Our current dry spell has reached 5 days and should make 2 more before rain chances return. Showers coming for this weekend are not a sure bet as chances will be highest along the Florida beaches (80%+), 40-50% here and <20% in Baton Rouge. Computer models are having a hard time on how much deep tropical moisture streams out of the Gulf. A slight shift farther to the west will make for a Wet Sat-Sunday. A slight shift to the east will result in a mostly dry weekend. Don’t cancel outdoor plans just yet.
The tropics remain quiet with none of the models showing development for the next 5-7 days. Our next shot of real cold air probably won’t arrive until the 2nd week of October. We’ll stay summer-like for the next 2 weeks. Stay tuned !
