Verifiable Forecast...

As most of you know, I have often complained of the Alarmist's predictions from the Global Warming Crowd as being " unverifiable".  In other words, make claims that cannot be proved right or wrong since none of us will be alive.  As an example...in the year 2050, or 2080, or 2100 this or that will happen.   On the other hand, NOAA came out with their Winter Forecast this week that says it'll be colder and wetter for most of the U.S. east of the Mississippi.   Finally that's something that we will know in another 3-4 months if there is any skill involved.   My friends at WeatherBell Analytics are predicting another brutal Winter, colder & snowier than last year.  Again, that's a forecast we'll know in 3-4 months if they are right or wrong.  When you see wild claims about the future 50, 80 or 100 years from now, remember those are "predictions" made for hype, for media visibility, not for scientific accuracy.

Hope you have been enjoying this stretch of beautiful October weather.   That is why I usually take many vacation days this month.  Plus ratings begin in November and I can't take any time off.   Computer models are trying/hinting that there could be some tropical development over the southern Gulf during the next 3-5 days.   As I have mentioned many times, once into October, especially after the middle parts of the month, we are protected by stronger westerly winds that steer any tropical systems far to our south & east.  That is certainly the case this year.   We have several cold fronts coming so I look to more great feeling air before the real cold of Winter sets in next month.
