The upper air pattern remains highly amplified with a huge ridge over the west and a deep trough over the central plains & Great Lakes. This is resulting in big temperature swings which will see us go from highs in the 50s & 60s back to near 80 by Sunday. Fortunately, the current cold is not as severe as a week ago, but more brutal cold is forming up in Canada and will probably head south during early December.
In the short term, Tuesday will be noticeably cooler with a brief warm up on Wednesday before another cold surge plows through on Wednesday night. Thursday & Friday look dry and comfy cool. Another big warm up is coming for the weekend.
