Record Heat Coming...

We are likely to see daily highs 95-100 for the next 4-5 days.  For most of the country, that would usually mean some heat related deaths as the folks up north aren’t acclimated to that kind of warmth.   For us, we have been warm to hot since late May, in fact we haven’t been less than 90 since June 28th.  It’s the opposite of what happens up north in the winter.  They get cold and stay cold.  Their bodies adjust to the chill.   Same for us & the heat.   That is why the brief cold spells we get in winter feel so bad.  Our bodies can’t adjust/acclimate since temps never stay cold for but a few days.  Not to down play the danger of heat, we’ll need to pay attention to our bodies if we are outdoors working or playing, but as long as one stays hydrated, wears a hat & sunscreen, we should not seen any heat related deaths.  Just use common sense during the peak (Noon thru 6 PM) heating of the day.

NOAA came out with their hurricane update numbers and there were no surprises as they agree with all the others…this season should stay fairly quiet.  Stay tuned!

Bob it does seems we have had High Pressure over us for the month of July and all of August where is that Bamuda High that brings us those SE winds and sea breeze showers and afternoon showers so lacking this year.... ....is this because of the current El Nino...
