It Will Rain This Weekend !

I know people hear only what they want to hear.  For instance, NWS has issued a Flash Flood Watch thru Sunday afternoon.   I expect we’ll see many dry hours on Saturday with even some sunny breaks.   What most people hear is “flood Watch” = all day rain.   Plus,  100% coverage has NOTHING to do with time.   So it is my challenge to storytell in a way folks know the timing of the rain is uncertain along with the location.  In addition, IF any training of cells develops, excessive (5”+) rain totals are possible.    All in all, the better day may turn out to be Saturday with most of the heavier rains falling after dark and before dawn on Sunday.  That would be good news for Saint’s pregame festivities Sunday morning.   The culprit for this inclement weather is a slow moving upper disturbance near El Paso that will finally reach us late Sunday.   This will make 2 weekends in a row of gloomy weather.  It will turn drier by Monday.  No real cold air is in sight so put the sweaters away for now.  10-15 day model runs do show cold air returning to the Gulf south.   Until then, enjoy Fall !
