Most Parades Will Be Dry, With Thursday Being The Exception...

As we head towards Fat Tuesday, it's becoming clearer which Krewes will have a rain threat.  An upper disturbance is lifting out to our north over the northern Plains, while a stronger disturbance is moving over California.  That system will bring the potential for a severe weather outbreak here on Thursday.

As you can see, the highest rain chances come on Thursday with the weekend being cold, but dry.
SPC has a slight chance for severe storms tomorrow to our west & north with that area shifting over us for Thursday.

We will ride the temperature roller coaster during the next 7 days with 75-80 degrees tomorrow & Thursday, 50s for Friday & Saturday before we warm up again heading into Mardi Gras.

The storm over the Plains into the Great lakes is mostly a rain system despite this being mid-February.

Above freezing temps. soared up into Canada while the West & northern Rockies stay chilly.

The cold front over Texas will not reach us as it stalls out awaiting for the California disturbance to plow through on Thursday.  Hannah has the timing of Thursday rains coming mainly after noon.

The big story today has been the strong winds gusting to near 40 at times.

This weekend will begin very chilly with quite a warm up coming as we head towards next week.

Again, only Thursday looks to have a rain problem.  Finally, 20 years ago today I said "I do" to my Brenda.  I am a very lucky guy.  Stay tuned!
