The Heat Streak Will Finally End, I Promise!

Yesterday I mentioned 2 cold fronts were coming.  It felt really nice this morning, but that first front really fizzled and reformed back to our north this afternoon.  Sooo, we again were way above normal for the 20th straight day.  But, unless my afternoon cocktail (Guinness) has re-clouded my recent cataract surgery, Sunday should be the last day above normal as a stronger cold front arrives Sunday night.

The main storm track continues over the northern states keeping them Winter-like while those of us down South are enjoying an early Spring.  We'll be in the warm air sector on Sunday and are likely to set another record high.

Note the 80s & 90s in south Texas.  Sunday should extend our heat streak to 21 days, but Monday-Wednesday will finally be below normal.   If you're dressed for it, it'll feel great.

Depending on lingering cloud cover, highs Monday & Tuesday could stay in the 50s.  We have seen some nearby showers this afternoon.

South winds have increased as low pressure tracks to our north.  That could keep morning lows above 70 for tomorrow morning.

Finally, we return to Daylight Savings Time tomorrow.  An easy way to remember is to think Spring forward.

Set your clock forward one hour before you go to bed.  You'll notice the difference in the evening hours as it won't get dark until well after 7 PM.   Today's satellite Pic of the day comes from off New England.

It was your basic Nor'Easter that looked similar to a hurricane EXCEPT there are no T-Storms (eyewall) around the center.  In meteorology we call this a cold core system vs the warm core of a tropical disturbance..  Enjoy Sunday's warmth as sweaters & jackets are coming back.  Stay tuned!
