If you ever watched top tier athletes make their sport look easy, that's what computer modelers must be saying after their forecasts for the past 2 weekends. Today was supposed to have some light passing shower with the heavier storms not arriving until after 10 PM. Buda Boom, book it Danno! Spot on with the heavy stuff (Tornado Watch) staying to our north & west. SPC upgraded the severe risk area this AM to a level 3 (enhanced). The 2nd graphic is the current tornado watch till 7 pm.
Bacchus was wise to get started earlier as the later it gets, the stormier it will become. The last upper low is kicking out over west Texas and storms are firing along the slow moving cold front.
Behind the front, temps. are 20-25 degrees colder so you'll be back to heavy coats for tomorrow as brisk northerly winds will make it feel colder.
Because the upper low won't get to our east until late Monday PM, even though the rains will be gone by early morning, clouds will linger for most of the day. Highs will be around midnight with daytime highs dropping into the 50s.
Mardi Gras will see all day sunshine with diminishing winds. With highs 60-65, it'll should be a great way to celebrate outside IF you're dressed for it. Sunscreen REQUIRED! Stay tuned!
