93 L moving into Texas, Heat Wave Coming Sunday Thru Tuesday

INVEST 93 L, an open tropical wave that crossed the northern Gulf, is now in east Texas moving farther to the west.  TWC and some local weathercasters have tried to show some of its moisture will rotate around and come back to the northern Gulf by Wednesday of next week.  I don't see that as 93 L should weaken and be gone tomorrow. Rather, an upper low way off the East coast will head westward, bringing another open tropical wave.

Meteorologist Amber Wheeler showed us a blocking high pattern developing that should force most of any rain off the LA/MS coast towards Texas.  It will also bring a huge heat wave over the south, which is typical for this time of the year.  In fact, today begins, historically, the hottest 3 weeks of the year. We don't want any tropical activity next weekend because it's Rodeo time.

This year's Rodeo President, Jason Bergeron, has a theme of "Make Tarpon Great Again"!  It's his effort to increase the number of folks registering and coming down to Grand Isle to fish.  But you don't have to fish or come down to the Island to win the $10,000 Grand Prize.  Just go register at tarponrodeo.org. The drawing takes place next Saturday night at 8:30 PM under the Otto Candies Pavilion.  Hope to see you there.

The 97 in Dallas is just the beginning as clouds & showers diminish.

Storms were far fewer today and that trend should continue through the weekend.

The increase in rain chances next week is due to the expected tropical wave. Finally, another huge plume of Saharan has moved off Africa.

What does it mean?  Any disturbance coming off of Africa will be limited in development, so keep the dust coming.  Stay tuned!
