Welcomed To Kentucky, Cold Front Coming For Thanksgiving

After a 2 day drive pulling a fully loaded U-Haul of furniture for my youngest son (Justin), we have arrived in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  My oldest son (Rob) did the superb driving with Ryan, my daughter-in-law Sarah & myself as passengers.  Kentucky at this time of the year is past peak color wise. In fact, there were no leaves left on the trees.  But the countryside is rolling hills and still pretty with a horse out in the distance.

To give you a better idea how isolated my son's farm really is, look at these maps.  The tiny blue dot is my location.

To some of you living out away from the city, where your nearest neighbor might be a half mile away, is not for you.  I'm included as I'm a people person.  it's why I'm down sizing into Copeland Tower next month into a community of vibrant seniors with active city lifestyles.

I can't wait to show you my views from the 14th floor!  But I need to be around people & businesses that include my church & health club.  My son & daughter-in-law( Emily) have chosen to become farmers at this stage of their lives.  It also involves moving back closer to Emily's family, which I totally understand.  When I come back up for Ethan's 7th birthday next April, I'll have pictures of a real, living farm with animals.  Like my current decision to downsize,  Justin & Emily are not afraid to fail and are eager to see where this life path takes them.  Bravo to them and best of luck.  I haven't really looked at the weather for days.  Still see where it's warm back in NOLA, but not for long.

A cold front is coming that will make it feel like Thanksgiving.  Up here, we'll be in the 20s, but the freeze threat should stay far to the north of NOLA.  Some much needed rain is falling ahead of this front that should help the water levels in the lower Mississippi.

The coming cool down will be noticeable, but not drastic.  When I'm back next Monday, I won't need a coat.  Tomorrow is Grandparent's Day at Ethan's school and it's a first for me.  I promise to have pictures when I post tomorrow.   Just looked outside to see the cow has joined the horses.

If Justin thinks Pops is milking cows down the road, I'm outa here!  I'll gather chicken eggs, but that's as far into nature I'm going!  Yeah, I saw the models trying to form a storm down in the Caribbean.  So what?  The northern Gulf is cooled, the Fat Lady sang weeks ago and the Hurricane season ends in 6 days.  Time to relax for the holidays.  Stay tuned!
