Nice Feel To Linger, Colder Front Next Friday, Kyle Very Unlikely

October is my favorite month as fronts start bringing down cooler & drier (good feel) air.  Sometimes we can go through the first 15-20 days of November with similar fronts, not too cold yet.  This weekend is near perfect with that Fall feel to the air courtesy of a front that has dropped well down into the Gulf.

As I mentioned yesterday, this front is NOT the Polar Vortex as the air isn't cold enough nor is the any snow cover except over eastern Canada.  The Polar Vortex is up over the North Pole.

If you look at the snow cover on satellite views, you'll see why southern Canada isn't that cold yet.

Until Canada gets a snow cover, the real cold air is several weeks away from coming to us.  Although our next front next Friday will be colder than this one.  Here's the WPC's forecast position.

Let's just enjoy this transition to cooler weather that will allow our bodies to acclimate to the coming chill.

The rain chances will stay low all week with only a stray shower ahead of that next front. Finally,

There is an area of low pressure east of the Bahamas but the upper wind shear will not allow for any tropical system to form.  Enjoy your Sunday and maybe our Saints can rebound?  Stay tuned!
