Not "Typical" Summer Pattern...

Yea I know we have been pounded by late PM & early evening T-Storms the past 3 nights, and that is typical of summertime. However, what is unusual is the motion/direction the storms are following. Unlike the usual SE to NW flow off the Gulf, we have another east coast trough set up that is moving storms from the North to the SSW. If this pattern holds for awhile, it will keep the rest of June quiet in the Gulf due to way too much wind shear. Hopefully the pattern of upper troughs over the Gulf and up the East Coast continues well into August. Stay tuned.

In the short term, a few daytime storms are possible for the next 2 days, but coverage should be only about 20%. Later this week, shower chances decrease resulting in temps in the mid to upper 90s flirting with record highs each day.
