Brief Downpours Settle Dust, Biggest Storms Stayed North...

Today's well advertised cold front brought small rain amounts to nearly 100% of SE LA/MS.  It wasn't enough as the heaviest storms remined well to our north.  Slightly cooler & drier air is filtering in behind the front and our next rain opportunity won't arrive until the weekend.  The heavier rains falling to our north should help get the Mississippi River rising , if only by a foot or two.

These fronts have origins from the Pacific so the cool down behind them will not be as chilly as a week ago.

Our dew points are tumbling & will be in the 40s tomorrow.  That is good feeling air that will warm nicely under bright sunshine.

So you may need a sweater or light jacket in the mornings, but Wednesday & Thursday will be near perfect.  Hopefully, the rain threat on Friday & Saturday will be greater than today.  Finally...

NHC is still watching the Tropics,  They highlight 3 areas for possible development.  With fronts coming over us & westerly upper winds increasing, our season is over.  But don't be surprised to see several more named storms before the end of the season in November.  The small tight swirl north of Bermuda looks like it could be a storm already.  Remember, Colin was named and he didn't look nearly as well defined.  Whatever, as long as they stay out of the Gulf.  Stay tuned!   Oh, fishing was OK.  25 keeper trout & 7 reds.
