A New Beginning...
Welcome back to all of you who really just want to share information and learn more about what's going on than just what you see on TV. I was outside walking our dogs tonight and really enjoyed (dogs loved it too!) the much lower humidity. It may not get us scrambling for sweaters and jackets yet, but this first real front is a start to the end of hurricane season for us. At the moment, the tropics are fairly quiet as strong westerly wind shear has weakened Ingrid back to a Tropical Depression way out in the Atlantic. There is nothing else that looks to be even close to developing tonight, however, several computer models do develop low pressure over the Western Caribbean next week and bring in into the Eastern Gulf for Thursday & Friday. Since the East Coast trough will still be there next week, it appears IF a storm does develop, it would head towards the trough meaning Florida would be the target. Again, I don't worry about things that haven't even formed yet, because sometimes (many times) the computers are not right. Let's continue to enjoy the weekend and a web site that is free from all the squirrels & "kinneygardeners" of this world. God bless Buddy D. for giving us those terms to describe the looney toons out there! Bob

Thanks for the update! Appreciate that you changed the way to post!
Am I the only one who will comment now? Everyone, but a few of us were hiding behind anonymous posts? Bob, what are your thoughts about GOM storm this week? Any different from your thoughts yesterday? Still worried like usual. I should change my user name to "Hurricane Worrier."
This is a nice new start. Now we can listen to what YOU have to say.
Thanks for the update, Bob. I think we're all looking forward to the end of hurricane season. I feel like I can relax a little now as each day passes. Thanks again for your common sense approach, as there are way too many meteorologists that like the "gloom and doom" approach.
