Still No Jerry...

Satellite loops continue to show a well defined circulation associated with an UPPER low over the eastern Gulf. There is a weak SURFACE low along Floirda's east coast north of Cape Kennedy. NHC indicates that surface low will move across FLA tonight and emerge over the Gulf tomorrow slowly working towards the upper level low. Slow development is expected and a gradual movement to the NW is expected on Friday. Our VIPIR model shows this system becoming a tropical storm on Friday but weakening as it nears the coast on Saturday between BIX & MOB. Bottom line...there remains great uncertainty here until a real center develops and that probably won't happen until late Thursday afternoon. IF VIPIR is correct, we would see very little from this system. The waiting game continues, but I feel better that a major storm will not form. Next update tomorrow PM.

My husband has plans to go out of town Friday afternoon. When should we have an idea if and when the tropical system in the gulf will effect SE Louisiana?
