Pay Attention Time...
With Tropical Storm Cristobal moving away from us off the east coast of the Carolinas, our attention now focuses on a strong tropical wave traveling by Jamacia heading towards the Yucatan Peninsula. There is an upper level low moving ahead of this system and that appears to be hindering any organization. However that may change as the Hurricane Center indicates more favorable conditions will develop during the day on Sunday. Regardless, if this becomes our next depression or Tropical Storm, it may enter the southern Gulf on Monday. The good news for us is, unless something drastically changes, this system should stay far to our south and head into Mexico south of Brownsville, Texas. I never get really worried until something reaches the Gulf. You should pay attention during the next 24-48 hours just to be sure no northward turn develops and brings this system closer to us. I'll have another update tomorrow.
