Dry JazzFest...Rain Returns Monday...
April officially ended with 1.33" of rain in Kenner, 3.69" below normal/average. We really could use a good widespread soaking and that may come on Monday as a weak cold front pushes through. Timing would be perfect as that means both weekends of JazzFest would be dry. Long term, another weak upper feature could bring another round of showers late Wednesday into Thursday. Now that we are in May, any fronts that do push through only will bring drier air as the higher sun angle quickly modifies those cool air masses. Enjoy your weekend before those dreaded 90s arrive in several weeks.

Bob, Been wathching the radar and satelite images here and it seems like a "traning effect" has toook hold just north of most of the viewing area... and is creeping southward! This is an erie reminder of the May, 8th flood! What do you think, could we have a repeat on our hands???
