Tropical Development? Don't See It...

Unusually cool & dry air for this time of the year is streaming across Louisiana and all of the Gulf South. That air is now covering a good part of the Gulf. An upper low is forming off Florida's SW coast and it is likely to rotate across Florida tomorrow. Some computer models try to develop a surface circulation but I see 2 things working against that. 1) too much upper shear and 2) too cool water temperatures. If a low does form, it will be "cold core" which is more like a Fall or Winter storm system. Looking at the good news...this will bring much needed rainfall for South Florida. Could it drift our way? I like what Dr. Masters said today...10% chance.

Last week we had highs in the upper 80s to 90 degrees with high humidity. This week we have highs starting in the 70s with low humidities. Hopefully our current weather can last for at least 2-3 more days before the muggies & heat return for the weekend? Enjoy!

For a slide show of Saturday night's waterspout/tornado, go to www.fox8live.com Great pictures! Looks more like a Kansas tornado!

This weather sure has been enjoyable these past few days. I wish we could get cool fronts like this in the summer. I know wishful thinking. But at least one would be nice.

I saw the photos of the waterspout, mighty impressive and yes I thought the same thing. I was thinking Oklahoma, but Kansas will do...that was too close for comfort...it was so upclose...

The rain over the past weekend was so needed. It did overfill my pool. Temps ran about 85 degrees last week and with the rain and cool temps, yesterday it was at 75. Amazing what rain and cool temps do to the water temp.

Hopefully they will be no rain this weekend, we have a late season crawfish boil planned!!! And I heard the sky was supposed to be falling this weekend...
