It appears that finally the fronts have stopped coming. That is good news as I get nervous when frontal boundaries work their way down into the Gulf at this time of the year. Right now the Gulf is a hostle environment for tropical development with strong NE winds aloft over the northern Gulf and Strong SW winds over the southern Gulf. In addition there is an upper low over the SW Gulf. Longer range models are trying to build the Bermuda High/Atlantic Ridge westward for the first time in weeks. This may finally get us back to more typical summertime weather with mainly dry mornings and 40% probabilities of PM T-Storms.
For Tuesday, another upper disturbance will enhance our shower chances with the potential of more widespread heavy rainfall. That disturbance will pull to the NE on Wednesday resulting in fewer storms for the rest of this week.
A special thank you to Grand Isle for being terrific hosts this past weekend for the Tarpon Rodeo. Grand Isle is Alive & back from last season's storms !
