As many of you know, I have been away on vacation as I usually do the first week in July. This year my middle son Ryan and I spent 2 days visiting Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Those of you who doubt about climate change only need to venture thru the Rockies to see how Mother Nature has changed the landscape over time. I'm always amazed to see the folded rock layers that were thrust upward creating spectacular scenery. We'll have a picture show for you in a Day or two. I also visited my older son & his beautiful wife for dinner at a restaurant called THE FORT. It is a recreation of an 1800s fort that serves some of the best food I've ever tasted. The Buffalo filet mignon was awesome, better than any beef filet plus it's lower in fat content & better for you. Weatherwise the highs were in the 70s with the nights in the 40s...a welcomed change from our summer heat. I miss my sons, but I understand why they have chosen Colorado as their home
Today's rainfall also shows what clouds and showers can do to control the summer heat. Looking ahead, we could get back into the very hot and mostly dry pattern we had for much of June. I'm back on-air at FOX 8 Wednesday at 5 PM. Fortunately, the Tropics remain very quiet with no signs of any activity during the next 7-10 days.

I lived in Denver for a month after Katrina. It's absolutely beautiful up there and wouldn't mind going back up there someday.
