Cry Wolf Often Enough...Nobody Will listen...

We have entered the Fall severe weather season where strong cold fronts sometimes produce damaging winds & some isolated tornadoes. These storms usually are not as intense as our early Spring severe weather season, but we should pay attention when a strong front approaches. This week we'll see several fronts pass through, but I learned watching last week's severe episode, let's try to maintain some calm and not go overboard warning the viewers about severe weather. Do it often enough and have little or no damage happen, the results will be predictable...the viewer will turn us out. Yea, some more fronts will bring us more storms this week, but to say they will or they may or they could be severe is way too early to start sounding alarms. There are many people who are very afraid of severe weather. I see no purpose to scare them until it's necessary. I'll update our Tuesday system later Monday afternoon.

First TWC started "Wake Up With Al". Now the latest is TWC will air a "weather related" movie every Friday night. In their effort to drive more viewers to watch, I believe us real weather geeks will head more to the internet to get our weather fixes.

I am so tired of trying to view my local on the 8's, only to be interrupted by NBC headlines and everything not related to weather. I think TWC is trying to broaden their viewership(adding younger anchors, weather movies, including other news stories, and even ruining the accompanying music during my local forecast).

Unfortunately, all it does is make me miss the soothing jazz and plainspoken reporting of both the boring and the scary weather stories. Sorry TWC, you really screwed up.
