Front to bring Storms, then Cooler Weekend!

It's gonna take all day Friday for this cold front to get thru, but that Fall feeling air is coming back for your weekend. We could see some heavy T-Storms Friday PM into early Saturday, but it appears the severe weather threat that has hammered north LA tonight will not be that bad when the front arrives here around 8 PM. My main concern is some heavy downpours that could give us 1-2" of rain causing some minor street flloding. That's the price to pay for a dry weekend.

Learned this week that the AMS has finally granted me their CERTIFIED AMS SEAL. I passed the test back in June, but had to have my programs reviewed to see if they met the AMS standards. They do ! Only 3 of us(Kim Vaughn is one) in this city have passed the AMS test to receive certification. I'm proud of my meteorological education (University of Michigan) and to be granted AMS certification. The title "meteorologist" is used by many, but AMS CERTIFIED is granted to the few...kinda like the Marines...The Few, the Proud...and yes I was a Marine too!
