Severe Weather With Next Front?

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has placed all of LA & MS in the slight risk category Friday into Saturday. Looking at satellite loops tonight clearly show this next system to be much stronger than the one that moved thru this morning. My feeling is it could turn into a heavy rain event for us with the threat for damaging winds/tornadoes staying farther to our north. Way too early to sound any alarms, but you'll need to pay more attention to the weather late Thursday into early on Saturday. The upper disturbance should finally push by early Saturday morning ending the rain long before the kids head out for Halloween. Ahead of this next front we'll turn summer-like again with highs in the 80s with the muggies back. Cooler behind the front on Saturday with colder air coming next week as the east coast trough returns. Seeing for the first time some below zero temperatures showing up over northern Canada freezing the ice saving the polar bears! Enjoy Wednesday !

NOAA just upgraded El Nino to moderate due to sea surface temperature in the Eastern Pacific rising 1-1.5 degrees above normal. Some models are forecasting a strong El Nino to possibly develop. Does that mean we have a better chance of snow for our winter months?
