Records Made to be Broken...

As we begin the official start of Winter Monday at 11:47 AM, our focus this week shifts to when will we break the all time wettest month for Metro New Orleans? (Oct. 1937 25.11) The MSY Dec. record (10.77") has been shattered as we now stand at 24.93" and it appears we'll easily get another 1-2 inches late Wednesday into Thursday as another strong cold front sweeps thru. Until then, we'll see a real warming trend that should have us back into the 70s by Tuesday and Wednesday. Christmas Eve looks stormy & turning colder for Christmas Day. Nope no snow this time as the air won't be cold enough. In fact the real brutal sub-zero air has retreated back up into Canada, but it will start a surge southward later this week as a deep trough develops over the central plains and Great Lakes. We could be near freezing Christmas morning, but the moisture will be long gone. If you want to see a White Christmas, go to Philadelphia where they were buried under 23.2" of the white stuff.

Yes, this December is a month for broken records, what with the weather and the Saints. Although, we took it on the chin from the Cowboys, 13 wins is a Saint record. Drew Brees is still the number one rated quarterback with a 109 passer rating. That has to be a record for any Saint QB at this time of the year.

The REAL good news is that there are more records to be set. Saints fans should not be down. Next we will clinch home field advantage throughout the playoffs. That will be a Saints record. Winning a conference title will be another record. Getting to the Super Bowl will be another record. And the ultimate record will be winning the Super Bowl.

Let's face it, it's very difficult to have a perfect season. These guys have been phenomenal. The Saints fans have been phenomenal.

Here's what COULD happen. We COULD meet Dallas again in the playoffs. We won't lose twice to them. We COULD meet Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl to spoil their MAYBE perfect record. Wouldn't that be nice?

There's a long way to go yet and I have a feeling that the Saints ain't done. Cheer up Saints fans!

Here is something funny... I read a story today from the Associated Press that blames Dogs for Global Warming. How sad is that?

Onlyreal,
I assume it's related to methane production (as is cattle manure), which is blamed for a large percentage of greenhouse gases. Many cities have wild dog populations that are out of control and add this to the pet dog population and you have another excuse for increased greenhouses gases. This is all nonsense of course, but AGW folks are starting to dig deep into the bag of tricks to KEEP some folks convinced of AGW.

It's now a precarious position that the AGW folks are teetering on, so they will come up with more and more things to throw at the wall hoping something will stick.
