Survey Says...It Will Snow !

If you believe the long range guidance from this morning, one would say those of you who voted in our snow survey (70% to 30%) that it would snow this winter, will be rewarded the 1st 10 days of January. But that's only this morning's run. Let's see if we have some consistancy in future model runs during the next few days as we get closer to "the events". It appears for certain that the next 10-14 days will give us many opportunities to see freezing temperatures on BOTH sides of Lake P. The North Shore has already been down into the 20's, but these next cold surges will be much worse. IF the forecasted deep east coast trough does develop next week, I would expect 20s on the South Shore and teens across the Lake...obviously, that would be a hard freeze, a "pipe busting" type freeze. As for snow? Depends if we have moisture still around. Stay tuned. I'm back on-air on Monday Jan. 4th.

For the 1st time in many years I was away without any internet access aside from my Blackberry. Yes, I could go on the net with it, but the screen is so small, I don't even bother trying to keep up with the weather except for viewing my site. The Holidays are for family and this year was no different...except, this Christmas was the 1st one for my wife's Mother without her husband. Worse yet, she had fallen 4 weeks earlier and broke her hip. so it was extra important that family gathered around Momma. I truly enjoyed being with her and seeing so much progress in her recovery. She reminded me that "Health IS Wealth". As for the Saints, Geez you of little Faith. 13 wins, PLAYOFFS...PLAYOFFS!, first round bye, home field advantage. I'm proud of this team and I believe they will become the team we saw earlier this year. They need our support, not our doubts.

Bob,

You are so right. Please, to the fair weather fans, we have one of the best teams in the NFL. We lost a couple of games, the Colts lost last weekend as well. No team is perfect. Think of how you would feel, if it were you on the team, and after you did so well, you were dissed, for losing in overtime.....
SNOW, let it......

Glad to see you back on your blog, Bob... Sure do miss ya on the air, too!!

I kinda hope there's enough moisture around to at least allow for some accummulations (3")... I live on the Northchore, so I guess we have a better chance?? (Although I have seen more moisture on the southshore which allowed more snow down there than up here)

Also, Bob, I just got one of those National Geographic Weather monitoring stations... does the rain, temp, wind... how can I report to you things going on up here? like rain, temps, etc...?

Welcome back.

Have we set an alltime record for rain yet? Or do we need to wait until tomorrow for this Decemeber to be the rainest recorded month ever?

Go Saints Go. Just curious if the models are still showing the cold coming down. Onlyreal, any input?

LD,

We set the all time record for rainfall last week. Any additional rainfall we receive today and tomorrow will just distance us further from the old record.

onlyrea,

Thanks. i was 99% sure that was the case, but I hadn't seen it reported anywhere.
