More cold coming...
Wow, just getting back to near 60 today (normal/average is 65) felt great! But don't get use to it as another fast moving front will bring colder temps. back for the next 3 days. Some showers are with this front and they should quickly pass thru after midnight ending by daybreak. NWS says we could see a change over to snow on the N-shore before it ends and possibly mixing with sleet on the S-shore. After all the snow hype last week, this opportunity looks less impressive. Monday will be windy and cold with highs in the 40s but dry for all the Lundi Gras festivities. Mardi Gras will have a frosty start, but it should be a delightful day...if you're dressed for it. Even with all day sunshine, highs will struggle only to the lower 50s. We'll have to wait until Thursday & Friday for highs back above 60. Don't forget the sunscreen if you plan to be out in the sun for 4-6 hours. Despite feeling cold, you can still get a sunburn with chilly temps.

The weather looks to remain quiet and boring for the rest of the work week; that includes Mardi Gras. Highs today and tomorrow will be in the 40's and 50's with lows near freezing on the Southshore and below freezing on the northshore. We will begin to warm up as the week wears on; by Friday highs could be in the 60's as Zonal Flow sets up aloft and as Surface High pressure slides east. Things look to get a little more exciting this weekend when a very weak upper trough slides through the Great Lakes region which advects a cold front into our area. With the cold front will come a chance of showers and thunderstorms; although the threat will not be significant. The front might even stall around our area due to Zonal flow.
Have a great Mardi Gras!

Here is something interesting; This winter has been so cold that Lake Erie has completely frozen over. This is the 1st time Lake Erie has completely frozen over since Winter 1995-96.
