Mardi Gras will be dry but chilly as highs will struggle to reach the lower 50s (normal is 65). The rest of the week will see chilly mornings, near freezing, but a gradual warming each day. By Friday we could finally get back to "normal" with highs 65+ ! No rain is likely until early next week.
Our current cold spell is now in its 4th week. There are signs that the East Coast trough will finally lift out allow for milder Pacific air to spread across the Gulf south. We are nearing the time of year when the danger for a "hard freeze" (pipe busting) is by us south of Lake P. In fact, it won't be long that we'll start talking about our first 80 degree day...but not this week. Enjoy Mardi Gras and don't forget the sunscreen !

Thank you,Bob. I was at the end of my rope-just worn out from celebrating, and feeling not only my 41-odd years, but also a couple of more people. I need Lent! But,just the sight of you in your costume, made me crack up!Great job,yet again,Bob!

For the most part the rain cooperated for this Mardi Gras season and the cold weather was only bad the last Friday before Mardi Gras...that was a bone chilling cold that night....Good to see Mardi went off dry as well..
So what can we give up for lent...hmm Football???
How about we just give up coats and jackets and move on to SPRING. I'm all for that...I'm retiring my fireplace and getting my pool ready!!! Come on Bar-b-que weather....I'm sure everyone is ready for a bit of warm weather.
