Bonnie Gone? Not Yet
Early morning satellite loops and NHC indicates Bonnie still has a closed circulation, however no T-Storms are located around the center. Consequently they say the Tropical Storm Warnings will likely be discontinued later this morning. Why can't Bonnie get stronger when it's over the warm (85-88) waters of the Gulf? Upper level wind shear remains 20-30 kts blowing off the cloud tops so they cannot wrap around her center of circulation. She still will bring clouds and some heavy rainfall with gusty (20-30) winds late this afternoon into the early morning hours on Sunday. IF for some reason Bonnie did strengthen before landfall, her impacts would remain minor with water rises of 1-2 feet , some wind gusts along the coast to 45 mph, but no worse than 20-30 mph over the inland areas. It appears that scenario is becoming LESS likely.
