Stump Da Experts...

Yikes...still stuck on storm # 3 as we approach the 1/3 part of August. Yea, there might be Danielle tomorrow way out in the Atlantic, but this year is looking more and more like 1995 when we had 19 named storms...except by this date (8-9) we already were on storm # 7. Unless things start firing off right away, we will be hard pressed to reach those 18, 19 or 20+ named storms predicted by the experts. Again, there is plenty of time to reach those numbers, but every day is more in our favor that the total number of storms may be more like 12-14. The heart of the season (Aug. 15-Oct. 10) remains ahead so let's not get giddy yet.

In the short term, an old frontal boundary has stalled just to our east. It may help increase our daily shower chances keeping us less hot. Still another 6-7 weeks to go before we can expect any real cold fronts from arriving. Hang in there Gang. Fall is coming !

What about 94L? The GFDL has it developing in the Gulf as a Cat 3

Yes I am beginning to wonder if for some odd reason what are the chances of having hardly any hurricanes this year...what would these experts say...Not that they won't happen, but I'm surprised we have not had any hurricanes yet. Not that I am asking for one either.

But it still seems we have wind sheer protecting us keeping from what storms we have had from developing...I do remember OnlyReal saying this might demish at the hieght of the hurricane season...

Pool temps still running 93 degrees...gotta keep cool somehow these days.

Bob... what was this storm in the north... it had a sort of eye, such as a hurricane??

I have seen a few radar views and it looked extremely similar to a hurricane it was really weird.
