Earl Looks Like Katrina...

What an impressive satellite loop of Hurricane Earl tonight. Really reminds me of Katrina after she moved over the Loop Current in the southern Gulf. Classic "donut" shape...pretty yet scary to watch since you know what will happen if/when Earl makes contact with land. Lots of folks are praying tonight for a curve to the NNE tomorrow. Fiona is not a problem, but Gaston could be, then again maybe not. He's 12-14 days from reaching us if he doesn't recurve like the rest of the storms this season. Not gonna start to worry about something that probably won't be our problem.

The "cold" front for this weekend is still on track. You'll feel the difference Sat. AM (less humid) and Sunday AM temps will be in the upper 50s ! to low 60s N-Shore and upper 60s to low 70s S-Shore. This summer ended as the 2nd hottest on record(1947-2010) only topped by 1980. We've earned some relief. Bring on the fronts !

I agree, Katrina looked very pretty as far as having that perfect look as does Earl.

When you look at Katrina and lets say Gustav...they look dangerous over solid water at a point in time and when they moved onward they changed over different environment...Katrina didn't hold its 170, Cat 5 status and Gustav fell apart on the strongest side...

Let hope Earl weaken as he moves North and curves before he hits land.

Bring on the cool fronts, yes indeed!!!!

Gatson and Katrina may be siblings?
