Hermine making landfall...Caution with Gaston

The center of Trop. Storm Hermine has reached the upper Mexican coast and is moving inland tonight. The seaon's 8th storm will have little impact on us...however, the remains of Gaston are still alive as they approach the islands east of Puerto Rico. All reliable global computer models do NOT develop this system, however, I recall Camille formed from a tropical wave and didn't develop until south of Cuba over the Western Caribbean Sea. Don't write Gaston off just yet. The global models do develop the next wave coming off of Africa. Igor is likely to be named later this week. It is over 2 weeks away from us. Plenty of time to watch it.

In the short term, the higher dew points(Muggies) are back resulting in higher rain chances for Tuesday. The heavier rains should be west and north of SE LA. Drier air will spread back over us later in the week. No signs of any cool, dry air returning in the next 7-10 days

Puerto Rico was not to far from where Colin formed, the storm that for what ever reason everyone kept saying should have not been named, but still have no reason why.

Well, back from my cruise.... Had a great time except for the day we spent in Cozumel...It stormed and they had sustained winds of 25-40 mph.... Umbrellas blowing all over the beach! Glad to be back home and now I'm ready for some cooler weather.

Why oh why when you listen to some meteorologists on other channels, they have you running for your life and thinking "evacuation"
Then you tune in to Mr.Breck and "sanity prevails" Thanks for your calming rationale and explaining why storms probably WONT come here. Thanks again Bob!!!
