October Chill Down Running 1-2 weeks early

After a great weekend visiting my youngest son in Bloomington, Indiana (Michigan a winner !), I returned home to find some of that Yankee air had invaded the Gulf South. Looking back the past 5 years since Katrina, we are cooling down into the 40s & 50s about 1-2 weeks ahead of "normal". This is great news as the more the Gulf waters cool, the less chance we'll see any tropical threats. Yea, Opal made landfall 15 years ago tonight, but the odds now are in our favor that no major storm will threaten us this year. Looking at computer models 7-14 days out increases that hope plus the prospects of not having anymore threats here. Remember, never in November has a hurricane crossed the LA/MS coastline.

In the short term, no major changes are expected with cool nights and warm, sunny days into the weekend. Enjoy October...my favorite month for 63 years !

Is it just me who believes CAVEMAN is employed or is a supplier of The Army Corps of Engineers?

LOL Bob...Caveman does have some heavy opinions but then again, that makes for good blog reading! I am with you, October and also April are my very favorite months of the year. I'm getting ready to start stocking my firewood so you know I am not in the least worried about any tropical weather from this point on....
