One Extreme to the Other...

We reached 80 degrees today, 30 degrees warmer than the previous Friday. 10 days ago, Chicago had 21 inches of snow on the ground. Today nada, it's all gone. What a remarkable flip-flop in the weather across the nation. The cause/reason? The upper steering pattern went from a trough over the east to a trough over the west. When we were cold, they were warm. Now it's reversed and will stay that way for about another week. We'll see a weak front stagger thru Monday night into Tuesday, but the real cold air will stay far to our north. It appears Mother Nature will remind us Winter is not over next weekend as a much stronger front will bring back the sweaters and jackets. But until then, let's enjoy our early Spring preview this weekend. It's been 9 days without rain. Maybe a few showers will accompany the weak front Monday night? Chances don't look real promising.

We are not done with winter yet.. It's still VERY early, and even though we have been warm, we will still see some mild freezing weather IMO.
