Yep, Meteorological Winter is over and Spring has arrived. Actually, for the past 16 days we have been Spring-like with highs above normal/average (8 days 80+). We will continue to see cold fronts over the next 2 months, but history tells us we are beyond the time of the hard-pipe busting freezes. We can still get a light freeze well into late March but there are no signs in the long range models that the east coast trough that brought us all the cold weather will return in the next 10-14 days. So expect to see more Spring-like temperatures in the next couple of weeks tempered by several weak Pacific cool fronts.
The big concern this week is parade weather. The only "iffy" day appears to be this coming Saturday. Timing will be critical and, at 5 days out, it's too soon to try to pinpoint when showers will arrive or exit. I give my Endymion forecast Tuesday night to the Krewe members and we'll show you it on FOX 8 at 9 PM right after American Idol.
