Next Front Friday...

Wow what great, good feel air we're enjoying! With several more fronts coming, we're not jumping right into summer just yet. Our next opportunity for rain will be ahead of a cold front that should arrive late friday afternoon. Any severe storms should remain well to our north as the upper energy will bring another tornado threat to areas north of Jackson/Memphis. As we get into late April and early May, cold fronts begin to run out of a southern push as the jet stream retreats farther to the north. We switch from a severe wind damage threat to a flooding event as training along a slow moving front can cause rain totals in excess of 5-10" in less than 24 hours. That won't happen with Friday's front as it'll sweep through quickly bringing back the cooler/drier good feel air for our weekend. Yippee!
