Summer Feel Arrives...

Once dew points get above 65, it starts to feel muggy. Tonight dew points are surging into the 70s just to our west and we'll realize that summer is here during the day on Friday as highs approach 90. Brisk SE winds will continue for the next 4-5 days and that will hinder Lake Pontchartrain from draining all that river water coming thru the Spillway. Look for some high water levels all around SE LA & coastal MS until the winds slacken over the weekend.

As stated yesterday, NOAA's hurricane predictions would agree with all the rest. The media makes a big deal everytime these predictions come out, but we all know it doesn't affect anyone's preparedness plans. Whether it's 20, 10 or 1, location is the key. It only takes one to make a bad season if the location is where you are.

Correct me if my memory is bad, but I recall NOAA last year said 15-23 named storms. FYI, our 16 year old FOX 8 intern Dylan last April (before Dr. Gray issued his) "predicted" the total number of storms would be 19. Your point is?

Bob, could you give us some insight on maybe this dry pattern breaking?

15-23 is a 19 average...
