It appears we'll see our first named storm down over the EXTREME southern Gulf maybe as soon as tomorrow(Tuesday). No worry for us since we are protected by a strong upper ridge that would steer Arlene into Mexico well south of Brownsville. That is the only tropical threat as upper lows/troughs/SAL layers dominate the tropics. Kind of interesting that the tropics, worldwide, are at historic lows. Not complaining here.
I'll be back on-air on Wednesday.

I THINKING THAT WIND SHEAR WILL BLOCK ANY STORMS FROM COMING THIS WAY TO NEW ORLEANS.
WELL IT SEEN THE TROPICAL STORM ARLENE HAS BEEN BORN TONIGHT AT (7:15 PM) CENTRAL TIME THERE WILL BE MORE TONIGHT AT (9:00 PM) AND (10:00 PM) ON CHANNEL-8 NEWS STAY WITH YOUR WEATHER AUTHORITY FOR ANY INFO ON TROPICAL STORM ARLENE.
Shear isn't what is blocking it from New Orleans, its the ridge of high pressure that is blocking it.
