Most Rain in 10 Weeks !!!

Not everybody got wet, but those that did...whew! Some real gully washers along with small hail...an exciting day and it still continues well after dark. Apparently an upper disturbance is the trigger since we have no fronts around. I expect more showers around Wednesday and Thursday before we dry out and heat up for this weekend. We could be back flirting with triple digits once again.

The tropics are quiet in the Atlantic, but Tropical Storm Adrian has formed in the eastern Pacific, their season's first named storm.

Bob... can the weather when in the pattern we've seen the last few days (east moving west) form severe weather that would result in any tornadic activity? I believe it's uncommon but can it happen at all? thanks

Our "typical" summer pattern has showers moving from the east(SE) to the West(NW). As the westerlies lift farther to our north, the risk of any strong tornadoes goes to near zero. However, waterspouts or small tornadoes often happen with a strong, slow moving T-Storm. they can do some damage but they are not like the strong tornadoes up north.
