Satellite and radar loops are showing a faster moving system tonight which would agree with our VIPIR computer model. Saturday still looks like the worst day especially in the morning. The rain shield should start to lift away on Sunday, but it'll still be quite windy. NW winds late Sunday into Monday will help drain the high waters out of Lake Pontchartrain and much drier air will flow in behind Lee. Night time lows will dip into the 60s north of Lake P. We have a real fall feeling for much of next week. I'll have an update in the AM. Strongest storms should be between 4 AM - 12 noon. Stay tuned. Katia is now back to a hurricane and models have shifted her track closer to the east coast. She will not be our problem.

Bob, we are behind you 100% percent!! Thanks for your hard work and dedication to your profession. What ever the outcome is over the weekend...you are the man!!!!!!!!
yes Bob, thank you so much! I trust you more than anyone else, and not only you are well prepared, but you know how to not freak people out and communicated with a positive attitude on your forecasts!!! :)
Yay Bob! Thanks for the info! Glad you don't take a weird joy out of NOLA storms like SOME people... ;)
Thanks Bob! Reading your reassuring words certainly helps keep the stress level in check. Please keep the info coming!
I know you dont want to undermined the nhc, but I see where your coming from. The nhc has done a terrible job with this storm, Bob, you just tell us what you think, we all take your word for it.
Your doing a great job, keep up the good work.
Bob, we moved off the MS. Coast and north of Hattiesburg following Katrina, but we still tune you in on line when something is happening. Looks to me though that this storm has been over hyped by the weather channel. Our son still lives in Gulfport and he's had 6 inches of rain so far, but he even remarked this morning that he's seen nothing above a few rain events they have had in the recent past....So far here in Jones County Ms, we've had ZERO rain as of 11am Saturday. We may yet get a bunch or maybe a lot, but it doesn't look that bad on my computer radar....Looks to me that we could be out of it altogether long before midnight....Oh, well........we'll see.......
Hi Bob,
I've got a vantage pro weather station and could provide you with storm data from Metairie Near Dorignacs if you're interested.
Regards,
Matt
Matt...yep we have several folks with auto-stations that send us twice daily reports thru the internet. Give us a call. BB
Bob Hayes...I don't think TWC has over-hyped this storm. It has been bad in some areas. Be thankful you didn't get the brunt of it...YET!
Thank You, Thank You...as previously said before..You ARE the man!.I only want to hear what Bob says..I hope after your retirement, you will come around maybe once a day during times that we need you. I can hope..:)
I've always said you have that uncanny gut intuition like Nash had. Always tune to you. Thank you for your dedication.
