Just a quick update...NHC says TD 13 will become T.S. Lee during the day on Friday. Their track takes it to the LA. Coast during the day on Saturday keeping us on the wet side. Rainfall amounts could exceed 10-20 inches due to the slow movement of this system. Development will be slow because we currently have upper wind shear. That will change by the weekend and there is the potential this system could become a strong TS or weak hurricane before landfall. Will update after 10 PM.

I know that we should be on alert, I check Bobs blog two to three times a day this time of year.. But this got bad really quick.. And the bad thing is that know one could predict the landing, or the intensity of this storm due to the weak steering currents. Right now, I'm freaking out. Sorry but I am
I agree with you Wiley. I am kinda freaked a little also! If they don't cancel classes, I am very concerned about our school kids getting stuck at school because of flooding. I don't want to keep them home and miss class, but then again, I don't want them to get trapped at school either.
I trust Bob! Everything I know about the formations, steering of the storms, wind shear, etc....I learn by listening and watching Bob Breck. I actually was able to spot this swirl a day ago so I was not too surprised when the NHC announced the news today. From what I know so far...the first thing to do is not to "freak out" about the situation. Take that engergy and focus on learning everything you can about the weather system. What I can tell, you from the little bit I know is this is the longer it takes for a system to come and pick it up to move it inland the more of a chance it has of becoming a hurricane. First, it has wind shear right now that is keeping it from intensifying. However, that will end tomorrow. Tomorrow will be the day to watch it....it will have time to sit out over the warm water with no wind shear and little to no steering currents to bring it ashore...the longer it sits out there the stronger it will get and the more water it will dump on the East side of the storm.....the"wet" side. If you are east of the landfall...that is the wet and windy side. I have learned that is nothing you can do to stop it. You can only prepare for it. Food, water, favorite junk foods, cokes flash lights, batteries, etc and just bunker down. If you live North of I-12 in Covington...as I do. There is not one thing I can do to prevent it from coming....prepare for it yes!!!
Don't worry, Bob will keep us informed!!!
I ALSO TRUST BOB WHEN IT COMES TO SERVE WEATHER I HAVE BEEN WATCHING BOB BRECK'S SERVE WEATHER COVERAFE FOR 33 YEAR'S OLD
