Sorry I didn't update last night, but I frankly didn't have a good feeling on where Debby was going. NHC is still struggling with where it will go as computer models continue to shift back & forth on Debby's future path. Our VIPIR has remained consistent in taking Debby into Florida away from us and I still feel that is going to happen. However, Debby still is over open water and until it moves inland, I'm not going to write her off for LA/MS. I feel for Florida since many areas were hammered with several inches of rain today and, with a nearly stationary storm forecasted for the next 2 days, storm totals could exceed 20+ "!!! So, Bravo for VIPIR so far, but let not start cheering until Debby is inland. The "Fat Lady" is on stage, but she hasn't started singing just yet. Stay Tuned!
Received an e-mail from an irate lady this afternoon. Thought you'd get a chuckle out of it.
"Last week you predicted with great confidence this particular tropical feature had NO chance of coming to Louisiana" (Never said that) " Now Debbie will possibly be a Cat. 1 Hurricane when it reaches the shores of LA Monday/ Tuesday. You are a danger to the public with your incompetence. Your Vipir models are grossly inaccurate and FOX 8 should be held accountable for your pathetic weather forecasting. This isn't the first hurricane forecast you have botched, and unfortunately it probably won't be the last. "
Huh? What channel was she watching? Gotta love this business!

No one will ever be 100% when predicting God's next move. That lady needs to back off! Keep on being the best, Bob! :)
No one has ever been 100% in predicting God's next move. The models and everything are great, but Mother Nature's end result ultimately is decided by God's hand.
That woman needs to back off and/or spend the decade in school to get the degree herself!
Keep on being the best, Bob!
I told my wife today: I bet Bob Breck is laughing today when the new hurricane center advisory came out at 4pm showing it's moving to the east...Great Job !
I watch you for your honesty, your experience, your education and your down to earth appeal.
You don't sugarcoat the truth, and yet you don't run around screaming doom. A relief when the rest of the channels are overflowing with veritable chicken littles.
I've watched my fair share of meteorologists on TV, and you, by far, are the best.
It would be great if you could tell us EXACTLY where and when a storm would hit, while it's still in its infancy. However, those of us who understand the limits of technology, advanced as it may be, know you to be the trusted expert in this field, with your team and VIPIR behind you.
Some can never be satisfied. As long as you are still with us down here, Bob, I'm more than pleased.
Thanks for the laugh, Bob..Some people..geesh!.You ARE the best! The one and only in my book..
Ah this lady should realize that the storm would be providing the danger and not Bob...
Hey, I remember Hurricane Goerges and Nash Roberts originally reported that the storm was going to loop under Florida, curve to the north, head east through Florida and head out to the Atlantic.
Then everyone praised him when he nailed Georges hitting the MS Gulf Coast...
Like you said Bob gotta love this business...
As I saw your VIPIR model presentation and then monitored the data the NHC was issuing showing the storm consistingly moving east and north despite the NHC's forecast of westward movement, I was cheering for you and Team VIPIR all way!
