Wow...a look at the upper pattern forecast for the next 7-10 days really means much colder weather for most of the eastern 2/3 of the U.S. A deep upper low will develop over the Great Lakes driving cold fronts down and thru the Gulf Coast. The first arrives here on Tuesday with another surge later in the week. What we need to pay attention to is for any low that might form along the fronts as they get down into the Gulf. Our VIPIR model continues to hint at a weak low in the central Gulf south of Louisiana by early Sunday. IF something did form (TD/TS), the SW upper flow would carry it to our east towards the FL. Panhandle. As always, I don't get nervous until something develops and so far nothing is there yet. Stay tuned!
In the short term, it appears some drier air has filtered southward tonight and that may mean few, if any, rain showers around for Friday & Saturday. Rain chances go up for Sunday & Monday.
