Our next cold front arrives before daybreak on Thursday bringing us a chance for a few showers, but the core of the cold will remain to our north resulting in a delightful weekend forecast for all of the Gulf Coast. Nights will be comfy cool (40s N-Shore, 50s S-Shore) with days pleasantly mild before we warm up the 2nd half of the weekend. When will the REAL cold arrive? Maybe sometime late next week.
The tropics worldwide remain active with 5 named systems, however, there is NOTHING showing up in the long range models that bring any system into the Gulf for the next 10-14 days. That bring us into November and history tells us that there has NEVER been a hurricane make landfall in LA/MS during that month. The Weather Channel keeps saying the hurricane season is not over, and they are correct for many to our east and south. But for us it's time to get ready for Winter.
