Recall that NOAA’s 2013 season prediction called for 13-19 named storms. So we must have at least 2 more named storms to make their forecast “correct”. Tonight NHC is thinking something might form again way off of the Cape Verde Islands. That would be Lorenzo, the 12th named storm. With 7 weeks left in the season, 13-14 seems no problem. But so what? Shows the folly of those early season predictions. If you can’t tell me where or when & how strong, it’s like the Farmer’s Almanac calling for a “blizzard in New England in early January”. Duh? Not very helpful info . I’m done tracking something that far out. Our season is over. Now it’s on to when will our 1st freeze arrive? Maybe snow this year? Stay tuned!

Well said
Thank you for having this blog.
I rely heavily on your hurricane forecasts.
Once again, we miss seeing you on television on the Ms. Gulf Coast.
Take care.
Alan
