Cool Not Cold...

As the blocking  upper air pattern, that has brought a cold & snowy Winter to the Great Lakes & Northeast, shows no signs of moving, I’ve noticed the numerous fronts that keep moving thru us are not nearly as severe as the cold of 10 days ago.   Part of that is due to the retreated snow cover + the higher sun angle.    We’ll stay cool to mild for the next 5-7 days, but I see no major pipe busting cold coming.  It’s a different story for the folks to our north as a major east coast snow storm could develop late this weekend.   Stay tuned!

In the short term, a weak front will stagger through during the day on Friday.  Winds will increase during the PM and it’ll start to feel cold late in the day.  A light freeze is likely for the North Shore on Saturday AM, but we’ll see a rapid warm up with bright sunshine.  Another weak front slides by Sunday AM.  All in all, not a bad weekend.
