Yea, it's easy to look back and say this Winter Storm was not as bad as expected...unless you live across the Lake where roads remain ice covered tonight. We were lucky that the amount of moisture was so limited as the surface temps were cold enough to really paralyze the city. As is, many bridges are blocked and getting around is quite an effort. Wednesday's rush hour will be a challenge if government doesn't open most bridges. A huge warm up is coming, BUT not Wednesday as highs will struggle to get above freezing by noon. Look for 50s Thursday, 60s on Friday and 70+ for Saturday. A change in the upper steering pattern will swing in from the Pacific all next week resulting in a much warmer pattern. Based on what's happened this Winter, I expect a return of another Polar Vortex (#6) sometime in February. We are not done with the freezes.
Morning lows will be high teens N-Shore, mid20s South...possibly even colder Thursday morning? tay tuned!
