Spring Just Days Away...

Yea, tell that to the folks up north!   More snow buried the big cities from D. C. to NYC with 3-6" of the white stuff with more cold ready to plunge out of Canada.  Fortunately, as we head to the Spring Equinox on Thursday morning at 11:57 AM, the higher sun angle makes the cold less brutal across the southern states.   In fact, the rest of this week after Tuesday should see highs 70+ with maybe an 80+ Friday or Saturday.    A mainly west to east upper flow over the South means no real cold (freeze threat) is coming in the next 5-7 days.   I'm beginning to wonder when the pattern of Arctic outbreaks (Polar Vortex) across the Great Lakes & SE will end?  The long range (10-14 days) model runs all point to below normal chill over the Great Lakes & NE with Warmth west of the rockies.  We're in between and I'm thinking our freeze threat is over south of Lake P...I hope!   Stay tuned!
