Flooding Not a Surprise...

As I look back at previous blogs and what I said last night on FOX 8's late weathercasts, I'm frustrated and saddened to see many cars flooded out tonight with others racing thru flood waters with zero regard for the wakes their cars are creating.  I wonder how we (broadcasters) can be responsible for the irresponsible?   I have come to realize that we can't.   Stupid does what stupid is, or something like that from Forrest Gump.   This was a well advertised "rain event" and folks should have been paying attention once the heavy rainfall began.   My motto when I had teenage sons was..."I want to know where you are because it's my car" !   Watching radar tonight again makes me think we are not done with the flooding rains.   After 3-6" this afternoon & evening, we could see another 1-3" before it's all over, and it won't be all over until late Saturday after dark.  Pay attention during the day on Saturday as daytime heating could bubble up some heavy PM storms.   A strong front arrive Tuesday with more storms followed by much drier & slightly cooler air for Wed-Thursday.   Enjoy your weekend & Happy Mother's Day.   Be with Momma if you can.  My Mom passed away one year ago on May 15th.

All you can do is put out the information. The rest you cannot be responsible for. Most of the people today can't think at all. They can't think about any consequences.

BTW, at my house in University City, I got 2.60 inches last night.
