May is a Month of Floods...

As we approach the anniversary of our greatest flood (excluding Katrina) on May 9, 1995 (15-20"+),  I'm concerned that we could see another "training event" set up over us for Friday into Saturday.   Computer models tonight are indicating 2-3"+ could fall.   It's too soon to sound any alarms, but it is time to start paying attention to the weekend forecast.   We will have had 3-4 days of south winds producing a deep layer of rich Gulf moisture that could combine with a slow moving frontal boundary to produce some very efficient rain storms over us.  It appears our 3 week dry spell is about to come to an end in a big way.  Stay tuned!
