Thunder Snow...Classic Cantore

Not sure if you have seen the current clip on Jim Cantore reacting to thunder during this past weekend’s snow storm in New England.  It’s priceless and Classic Jim.  Call him funny, call him entertaining, call him knowledgeable, but those of us who personally know him call him PASSIONATE!   I recall 2 times in my youth that I experienced “thunder snow”, which is nothing more than lightning during a snowstorm.   It doesn’t happen too often, but it is an exciting event as Jim clearly showed us.  Go give it a look.

I’m getting more concerned tonight that Fat Tuesday will end up as ugly as originally thought last Friday.   Computer models did a flip-flop on us last night and today, indicating the rains would pull away and Mardi Gras would be just cold but dry.  In addition, temperatures keep falling so I would not be surprised to see some sleet mixed in with the cold rain showers in the morning.   An upper disturbance is rounding the base of the trough out over the Rockies and models don’t seem to be picking up on that.   It’s been awhile since we have seen the white stuff.   Happy Mardi Gras!    Stay tuned!
